Our Commitment to Quality

Deciding where to seek healthcare for yourself and your loved ones can be difficult. At Anderson Hospital, we believe that informed patients make better choices about their healthcare and are better equipped to participate in their own health management. As a testament to Anderson Hospital's commitment to providing the highest quality of patient care to our community, we have designed this section of our website to provide transparent information to guide you in your decisions related to healthcare.

Hospital Performance Data & Quality Reporting

Quality indicators compiled by websites such as Hospital Compare are designed to help you and your family understand how Anderson Hospital performs in comparison to nationally-recognized quality indicators. Hospital Compare and other performance reporting websites help hospitals monitor their performance and help medical staff evaluate and improve how they care for patients.

Our hospital participates in reporting quality information so that it is readily available and accessible to current patients and potential patients. Additionally, by participating in these reports, we are able to accurately assess our patient care and implement necessary changes to our systems and protocols to improve outcomes.

Listed below are websites of national and state programs and organizations that provide these hospital data reports.

Anderson Hospital’s Notable Quality Honors

In 2021, Anderson Hospital received a five-star quality rating from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The annual CMS stars program serves as a healthcare guide to hospital quality, comprising more than 50 individual measures that include hospital mortality, avoidable readmission, hospital infections, and patient experience. Currently, we are the only hospital in southwestern Illinois to have achieved a five-star rating.

In 2022 and 2023, Anderson Hospital was consecutively named one of the best hospitals in the United States by Newsweek magazine in its annual “World’s Best Hospitals” rankings list. The list landed us in the top five percent of hospitals in the nation. Three data sources were used for the evaluation of the rankings, including hospital recommendations from peers, patient experience, and medical performance indicators, such as patient safety, hygiene measures, and quality of treatment.
