Anderson Hospital New Emergency Room Project

Anderson Hospital is excited to announce the construction of a brand-new Emergency Department, a major investment in the future of emergency care for the communities we serve. This project will be a completely new, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and accommodate the growing number of emergency visits, which now exceeds 37,000 visits annually.

ER Building Name Unveiled at Foundation Gala

It is both our privilege and our honor to recognize Ralph Korte’s lasting contributions in a way truly worthy of his legacy.  In partnership with The Korte Company, and with the blessing of the Korte family, Anderson Hospital is proud to announce, our new Emergency Department will bear the name:  Ralph Korte Emergency Department.

Why a New Emergency Room?

This project reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our patients and community. The decision to build a new ER stems from several critical factors:

Rising Patient Volume: Each year, we see a growing number of patients in our ER, underscoring the urgent need for expanded capacity.

Behavioral Health Needs: There is an increasing demand for appropriate space to care for patients experiencing behavioral health crises.

Facility Limitations: While our current Emergency Department has long supported our community, it was designed for healthcare demands that have changed significantly over time.

Trauma and Resuscitation Readiness: We require customized, dedicated space to better serve patients with trauma and resuscitation needs.

Transfer-Ready Patients: Many patients await transfer to tertiary care facilities, and we must have space designed for their care and comfort.

Improved Workflow and Efficiency: A modern design will help streamline care and enhance the environment for patients and staff alike.

This new Emergency Department will address these needs, allowing us to continue delivering high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care in a space designed for the future of emergency medicine.

ER Access During Construction

During the construction period, Emergency Room access has changed. The ER can only be reached from Vadalabene Drive on the south side of the hospital.

Please note that there is no ER access available via Route 162.

A new entrance off Vadalabene Drive will take you directly to the temporary ER Tunnel entrance.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our facilities and continue providing safe, accessible emergency care.
