Anderson Healthcare Captures Major Milestone

Anderson Hospital -- 11.12.25 Today, Anderson Healthcare leaders, staff, volunteers and board members gathered alongside our partners from Korte Construction for a group photo commemorating a major milestone — the groundbreaking and progress of our brand-new Emergency Department at Anderson Hospital. This image will serve as a lasting record of an historic investment in the future of emergency care for the communities we serve.

The new Emergency Department will be a completely reimagined, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and accommodate the growing number of emergency visits — which now exceeds 37,000 annually.

This project is a direct reflection of Anderson Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to meet the evolving needs of our patients and community. The decision to build a new facility stems from several key factors:

  • Rising Patient Volume: Each year, our Emergency Department experiences increasing demand, reinforcing the need for additional space and resources.
  • Behavioral Health Needs: The growing number of patients in behavioral health crisis requires specialized areas designed for safety and compassionate care.
  • Facility Limitations: Our current ER has faithfully served the community for many years, but healthcare delivery and patient expectations have evolved significantly.
  • Trauma and Resuscitation Readiness: The new design includes dedicated, customized space to better serve trauma patients and those requiring resuscitation.
  • Transfer-Ready Patients: Many patients await transfer to tertiary facilities; this project ensures we can care for them in an environment designed for comfort and continuity.
  • Improved Workflow and Efficiency: A modern, purpose-built design will streamline processes, elevate the patient experience, and support staff performance.

Today’s photo, originally delayed due to weather, also provided an opportunity to reflect on the tremendous progress already visible at the construction site in the background. Each person in the photo has played an integral role in planning and advancing this project — from leadership and operations to clinical care and construction partnership.

We are grateful for this moment to come together and capture an important chapter in the history of Anderson Hospital — one that represents growth, collaboration, and our unwavering commitment to exceptional emergency care.
