Congratulations to our newest Lily Award Winner, Certified Nursing Assistant, Brandy Foster! Brandy, who works on the 3rd Med/Surg Unit, received three different nominations that all showed how she meets the Lily Award criteria which includes:

• Demonstrates extraordinary skills in their role.
• Has a positive attitude and demonstrates professionalism in the work environment.
• Exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Anderson Hospital, abides by the code of excellence and code of conduct.
• Establishes a special connection with the patients, families or coworkers.
Brandy’s Nominations read:
My 89-year-old mother has advanced liver cancer and was admitted for end-of-life care. The day she was admitted she began having diarrhea. The nurse aid on duty changed my mother 12 times within a period of about 8 hours. She came in every time we called with a smile and the kindest disposition, reassuring my mother it was ok. This person epitomizes what true nursing is all about, taking care of the patients’ needs even when it is a very trying and difficult situation. This young lady deserves all the accolades she can get because she made my mother's last days comfortable and with dignity. Even when mom was transferred out of her unit she still came and visited my mother right before she passed. What a sweetheart, kind, loving, caring person. And what an asset for Anderson Hospital. This aid always treated me with such sweetness. I had even made a mistake and a mess which caused her more work but she kept reassuring me it was okay and I was okay. She also understood my unique predicament.
