Anderson Hospital is in the midst of an extraordinary moment in our history: the construction of a new Emergency Department—the centerpiece of our recent Gala and a transformational step for our healthcare system.
This project represents far more than bricks and mortar. It reflects our commitment to providing a redesigned experience for both patients and staff—more exam rooms, specialized spaces for unique patient populations, expanded work areas for our providers and care partners, and upgraded equipment and technology.
Our new Emergency Department is being built for enhanced, efficient care—care that meets both the pace and the heart of our growing communities.
We are proud to continue our long‑standing relationship with The Korte Company, a partnership that began in 1988 with the construction of our Pavilion for Women entrance canopy and MRI dock.
Those early projects marked the start of what has become a multi‑decade collaboration grounded in shared values, mutual trust, and a unified commitment to serve this region.
Over the last 38 years, The Korte Company has helped us expand nearly every dimension of Anderson Healthcare—from surgery and imaging, to oncology, women’s services, intensive care, outpatient centers, medical office buildings, and urgent care. More than 30 major projects have shaped our organization and prepared us for the next chapter.
At the center of this legacy stands one man: Ralph Korte.
Ralph didn’t just build buildings—he built community. He understood the value of investing not only in today, but in tomorrow. His work changed skylines, strengthened neighborhoods, and helped advance entire industries. And his values continue to guide The Korte Company today.
It is both our privilege and our honor to recognize Ralph’s lasting contributions in a way truly worthy of his legacy. In partnership with The Korte Company, and with the blessing of the Korte family, Anderson Hospital is proud to announce, our new Emergency Department will bear the name: Ralph Korte Emergency Department.
This naming is more than a tribute; it is an alignment of values. When Ralph built for this community, he built as if it were for his own family. And when patients enter our Emergency Department, often on the hardest day of their lives, that is exactly how we intend to care for them.
