Visitor Guidelines

Visitors at Anderson Hospital are expected to abide by established visiting hours and conditions as set forth below. All visitors are expected to support the quiet healing environment and comply with safety measures to protect patients and staff throughout the duration of the visit.

Inpatient Medical & Surgical Units:

• 2 visitors per patient
• Visitors may swap in and out; not to exceed maximum number allowed
• 1 overnight visitor may be allowed with prior authorization
Visitor Hours:
8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Daily

Intensive Care Unit:

• 2 visitors per patient
• Visitors may swap in and out; not to exceed maximum number allowed
• 1 overnight visitor may be allowed with prior authorization
• Visitors under 15 require prior authorization and must be accompanied by an adult
Visitor Hours:
8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Daily

Pavilion for Women Labor and Delivery:

• Only 3 visitors at bedside (number includes significant other)
• Visitors may swap in and out; not to exceed maximum number allowed
• No one under age 16
Visitor Hours:
24/7 during labor and delivery; at discretion of patient

Pavilion for Women Post Partum:

• 4 visitors at bedside (in addition to significant other and baby’s siblings)
• Visitors must be 14 or older (unless baby’s siblings)
• 1 overnight visitor allowed
• Visitors may swap in and out; not to exceed maximum number allowed
Visitor Hours:
No visiting hour restrictions for significant other, grandparents, and baby’s siblings. Other visitors: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Daily

Emergency Department:

• 2 visitors per patient
Visitor Hours:
24/7

Outpatient Endoscopy & Surgical Services:

• 2 visitors per patient
Visitor Hours:
Hours per patient’s scheduled surgery/procedure. Visitors may accompany the patient to the pre-op area and stay until the patient is taken to the procedure. Visitors will wait in the waiting room while the patient is in the OR/procedure.

COVID Positive Patients & Those Awaiting COVID Test Results:

Effective April 2, 2024 the following changes have been made for COVID positive patients:
-  Visitors for COVID positive patients will be allowed except in severe illness situations. These cases will be handled on a case by case basis.
-  Visitors for COVID positive patients will be instructed to wear surgical masks, gowns and gloves and to practice good hand hygiene measures.
-  These visitors will be encouraged to remain in the patient room only and to exit the hospital immediately after visiting.
-  Any questions regarding specific patient visits should be directed to the department director / manager or nursing house supervisor.

Mask Guidelines:

Anderson HealthCare has lifted universal masking requirements in our healthcare environments effective April 21, 2023. Employees, visitors, and staff, except when required, will no longer need to wear a mask. Masks will continue to be readily available for those who prefer to continue wearing a mask, and patients who would prefer their providers wear a mask may request that.
