If you notice a large police, fire, and ambulance presence at Anderson Hospital’s ENTRANCE 2 next week, please know — THIS IS ONLY A DRILL.

On Monday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Anderson Hospital will host a full-scale active shooter training exercise in partnership with the Maryville, Glen Carbon, and Troy Police and Fire Departments.

The exercise will take place inside our Outpatient Endoscopy and Surgical Services Department after business hours.

These rare, full-scale exercises are a critical part of keeping our community safe. They allow first responders and hospital teams to practice and strengthen their coordinated response in the unlikely event of a real emergency.

We thank the community for understanding and not being alarmed by the increased emergency vehicle presence during these training periods — again, this is only a drill.
