Please help is in congratulating the winner of the Lily Award for 2nd quarter, 2025. From over 120 nominations received IRIS SILAS was selected as the winner! Below are excerpts from the 4 nominations received from 4 different patients/family members.
- This was my husbands first hospital stay. This employee was there when he arrived. She immediately calmed his jittery nerves and put him at ease. She provided amazing support and excellent care for him throughout his entire stay. Anderson is so fortunate to have her on staff. We were blessed to have her caring for him. (Family/Visitor)
- I’m writing to commend this employee for the outstanding care she gave to our grandmother during her hospital stay. From the start, this person showed remarkable compassion and professionalism—not only toward my grandmother, but to our entire family. One of the most meaningful gestures was how this person shared personal stories about her own loved ones. That openness helped us feel seen and understood, and her empathy gave us comfort during a very emotional time. She also took time to explain the care plan clearly and always made sure our grandmother was treated with dignity and kindness. She exemplifies the highest standard of caregiving. We’re deeply grateful and hope she will be recognized for her exceptional service. (Family/Visitor)
- This person made my mom comfortable, cheerful, happy, and laugh. She went out of her way to come and see her every day she was in the hospital, even if she was not on her rotation that day. My mom was craving chocolate milk one day, so this person made sure she had some every day. She made the point to remember when she was being discharged. She came to say goodbye and gave her two chocolate milks for home. (Family/Visitor)
- This person is very attentive, considerate, and has a great bed side manner. She was always in my room immediately when I needed something and did everything she could do to make me comfortable. Her attitude was very upbeat and made me feel better seeing her. She made my hospital stay so much more tolerable than I could have imagined. I wish I could do more to thank her. (Patient)
If you see Iris, please congratulate her! Nominations will be placed in the mailroom on Monday for distribution to the many other staff members who were nominated! Congratulations to all our staff members who made an impact on patients, families, and coworkers.
